Jessica appreciates that seeking couples or sex therapy may feel very daunting, as it can be difficult to confront the reality that your relationship and/or sex life is not as fulfilling as you want it to be. Jessica’s approach is warm, collaborative, and respectful. Her sessions provide a supportive non-judgemental space where couples can gain insight into their current difficulties, and learn practical ways to improve fundamental aspects of their relationship.
Couples therapy may be useful if you are experiencing: poor communication, conflict resolution difficulties, infidelity, sexual or intimacy difficulties, a lack of emotional connection, financial pressures, conflict over household responsibilities, difficulty navigating through major life transitions such as becoming a parent, career changes, or difficulties within the extended family.
Individual counselling may be helpful if you wish to privately explore issues that are affecting your relationship and/or sex life, or if you are currently not in a relationship and wish to explore issues around relationships, sex and intimacy.
Jessica’s approach is integrative, and she is highly skilled at tailoring the intervention to meet the individual needs of the client or couple. She primarily uses a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic framework, but also draws from a variety of other therapeutic modalities including: Person-centred therapy, behavioural therapy, Gottman method couples therapy, and attachment theory.
Jessica has worked in a number of government and private organisations including: Sexual and Relationship Counselling Services, Drug and Alcohol Addiction Services, the Department of Health's Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC), and England’s National Health Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service.
Jessica is a registered psychologist with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
